Getting involved in energy metering in the late 80s, iST was one of the first companies to supply automated meter reading (AMR) systems to the South African market. Our very own ecWIN™ software suite for load data acquisition and display forms the basis of our solutions, and it enables customers to accurately analyse their energy consumption. Whether you are an energy supplier or consumer this provides you with the tools to verify the accuracy of all billings, saving you both time and money as well as helping to identify areas you can stand to improve.

Our systems and offerings have evolved with the times, and we recognise the importance of combining metering with communication technology. Our solutions are meter agnostic and iST supports integration with an array of meters in the modern market, which allows our customers the opportunity of effective metering management and reading which fits in with previous infrastructure investments. We enable communication with metering infrastructure via a range of platforms including cellular (GPRS), ZigBee, Power Line Carrier (PLC) and Ethernet.

Our solutions grant further flexibility by enabling metering of water, air, gas, electricity, steam and fuel usage. This information can also be normalised into measurements of power, temperature or various other factors in order to accurately track and calculate Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
